Andrés Angel

Born in Medellín (Colombia), Andrés Ángel took up playing the guitar in his early childhood. When he was 10, he began studying music and guitar at the Fine Art and Music Academy in his hometown. He then continued these studies at the University of Antioquia (Medellín).

Over the years, Andrés set his mind to dedicate himself entirely to the guitar. On the strength of this ambition, he moved to Europe to study classical guitar with Michael Buchrainer at the “Landeskonservatorium für Vorarlberg”, music conservatory in Feldkirch (Austria).

He then moved to Seville (Spain) where he studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel Castillo.

All those years he studied classical guitar with renowned professors as Manuel Barrueco, Alvaro Pierri, Odair Assad, David Russell, Carlo Domeniconi, Pavel Steidl, Dale Kavanagh, Jorge Luis Zamora, Anders Miolin, Gerald Garcia and Marco Tamayo.

In 2010, he graduated as a guitar soloist with honors.

He soon decided to specialize in playing the flamenco-guitar and decided to move to Seville, where he would dedicate himself exclusively to the art of Flamenco as an interpreter and composer.

In his continuous pursuit of perfection, he joined the Fundación Cristina Heeren and the academy of Eduardo Rebollar (Artes Escenicas Rebollar) were he will be working during 3 years. He also took classes with other flamenco Maestros as Niño de Pura, Paco Cortes, Pedro Sierra and Yolanda Lorenzo, among others.

After working several years with renowned flamenco artists as Jose Galván, Andrés Ángel is now presenting his own proposal as a flamenco guitar soloist.

In June 2016 Andrés Ángel released his first album called INFLEXIÓN, which has been performed in live shows since 2017.
